PRIMARY SUMMARY:
Operates and troubleshoots one or more electrical discharge machine(s) to shape metal work pieces to specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodation for disabilities may be made for one or more of the following:
Starts machine and observes beginning of operation to ensure that it is running properly.
Examines blueprints, tooling prints, or sketches.
Positions and secures work piece on machine table.
Positions gauge blocks and/or dial indicator on work piece to insure accurate wire locations.
Adjusts machine settings such as flushing, voltage, current, frequency, and wire/cutting feed rates.
Re-adjusts machine controls as required.
Record machine settings i.e. offset, number of skims, and etc. to use for future jobs.
Inspects finished products to verify conformance to quality standards, by following blueprints.
Count finished products to determine if work order is complete.
Mark or tag identification on parts.
Keeps equipment and work area clean and organized.
Report any malfunctioning equipment to immediate Supervisors or Lead and hold for direction.
Keep daily record of jobs completed and hours spent.
Follow all 5S department procedures which include but are not limited to; keeping floors clean of oil and debris, returning tools to proper locations, organize part pans, and performs other housekeeping duties.
Attends all required job-related training (internal and external).
Responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures.
Responsible for attending all training provided and for adhering to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements, and safe operating procedures at all times.
Required to bring any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to management’s attention immediately.
Seek opportunities to improve our HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting our results.
Suggests waste elimination initiatives specifically related to the function and department such as recycling opportunities and elimination of paper waste.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience
High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required; and completion of a craft apprenticeship, a minimum of 2 or more years of related experience and/or training.
Read and interpret blueprints or other job specifications.
Ability to make all inspections on machined parts using precision measuring equipment.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Esprit Software; Database systems; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Language Skills - Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write simple correspondence in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills - Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.Ability to perform these operations using units of US currency and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Evidence of “US person” is required under ITAR.
